Yea i'll bite.

Questions:
1. do i HAVE to meditate every day?
1a. if so, how long.

2. Is this an exercise that can be done with out having to 'read into' what i think im hearing or seeing in my minds eye? IE: Will it be obvious when contact IS made and can i coast along until im 'struck over the head' with such contact?

3. Often you hear people claim that imagination IS contact or border line contact. how would you recommend someone get over the thought process of "I didnt make contact.. i just imagined (or created) that person in my meditation. To prove my point, i'll create THIS type of person next time."

basically: how do you help someone get over the idea that what we think we see or hear is completely created by us, and not an actual vision or message from a spirit guide.


Im being pretty blunt and i will think of more questions ahead: hopefully it doesnt come across to Harsh.

4. What would be the motivation for making contact? Wouldn't attempt to contact a guide for any kind of.. guidance... be circumventing the original intent of us (humans) being here in the first place? (which is to learn by expanding our own consciousness and awareness based off life experience).

Hi all:

Great! First, I want everyone to read chapter 2 "meeting rose" in Sonia Choquette's Diary of a psychic. Here it reads: Once I heard my spirits, I talked to them all the time. I knew they could hear me. It was just a matter of practice for me to tune in to them on a regular basis. I had no trouble following the rules my mother passed along. I was completely willing to listen, follow the spirits' guidance without question, and stop talking in my head. The first two were easy. The third took more practice and was something I did in my room every night just after the light went out. As I said, my bedroom used to be the kitchen in the original second floor apartment. At night, the space above the closet my dad had built became a mysterious black hole, and in my imagination, it was the place where my spirits lived. I'd lie in bed, focusing on the void, and talk to it as if I were talking to Heaven.
First, Id' pour my heart and soul out about what had happened that day. Then I'd wait to hear the reply. It took awhile, but eventually my spirits' voice came through, an inner chorus speaking not in my head but in my heart. I especially heard them when I was almost asleep, mostly whispering, "We love you." After hearing this night after night, I finally summoned the courage to ask my spirits their names. Mom knew hers by name, and I wanted to know mine in that way as well. Just before falling asleep, I said, "I sure wish you'd tell me your names and what you look like. Will you? To my surprise, I heard the most soothing, sweet, feminine voice answer me. "I am Rose, and I love you.
"Rose, " I repeated. "Rose. What a beautiful name. Thank you for being here, for watching over me." I woke up the next day wondering if I'd dreamed the whole thing. After several weeks of talking to Rose, I wanted to know what she looked like, so I asked her. In that void above the closet, or in my imagination - I couldn't tell the difference - I saw a beautiful light. IN the center emerged a very small woman who looked like a nun. She wore a brown and beige habit, diffferent from the sisters at school. She had a very kind, sweet face and appeared to be about 20 years old. She smiled at me and held her arms open, and when she did, I felt warm energy flow through me. She looked the picture of St. Therese, "The Little Flower," that I'd seen at school.

This chapter continues to talk about describing rose and her experiences with her. I'd like to say that you should re-read this passage over and over until you can quiet your mind. Even if it takes a month or months to complete this, you'll have to train yourself to focus on your breath and target a certain place in your home. You can focus on a certain object in your room and learn to mediate without closing your eyes. As homework: Try to find a quiet place and focus on quieting your mind and breath quietly for 15 minutes. Report what you have done when you're finished.

HaHaa! Adam, I just had to laugh at your first question. I have had a lot of trouble with meditating too, but it's getting better now. The more I see how it helps me connect to my guides or do readings, the more I want to meditate. I usually do it first thing in the morning, sometimes when I'm still in bed. And I'll also do it before I do a reading. I just go until I feel I'm done. I think you can usually feel when you're done. I don't try to force it.

As for getting over the idea that you're making it all up, I have that problem too, and I just ask for confirmation, signs, etc. And keep on asking until I feel there are too many "coincidences" for it not to be real. And once I believe I have actually "made contact" with a guide and feel comfortable with them and with the information I get, then I more or less trust them and any info that they relate.

How did the meditations go? Any new experiences to tell?

Last night, I asked to hear more spirits and I did. I heard a whole chorus and I asked for one spirit to speak up. I quieted my mind and heard a woman, a child, and my guide. Tomorrow, I'm going to ask their names and see if I can connect to one of them.

Tonight, I'll report everything I hear and post it. I would love to hear other peeps' stories.

I think its great what you're doing. I havent looked into Diary of a Psychic. I felt it was just her life journey ... but does it prove beneficial to purchase? It walks you through the steps you're taking to get to this point?

I also remember in Sonia's book, her experience of hearing a REAL voice for the first time. I believe it was many years after the Rose incident. She was sewing something and was about to do something when she heard a clear voice telling her to stop, because she was about to mess up her project. She writes something like "I nearly fell out of my chair."

The reason I mention this is that I think there's a distinction between the ways you can "hear" your guides. Sometimes it's only a knowing-ness of an answer to your question, sometimes a voice in your head, and sometimes you would swear it's a person in the room with you.

I have had only one "voice in the room" incident. I was taking the Soul Coaching training at Denise Linn's ranch last summer. The cabin I was sleeping in was in a natural Vortex area of the property (that's why I picked that cabin.) Anyways, I was laying in bed one morning quite early, my cabin-mate had already left for a morning work-out. As I laid there I quite clearly heard a voice say " LISA, GET UP!" it was so real, I actually got up and peeked out the windows, but no one was around. It was pretty cool to know that I had to ability to hear a real voice and not just think I am making it up in my head. I'm not sure WHY I was supposed to get up, nothing significant happened, but you can bet I did it.

Mostly, I have a knowingness when speaking with my guides, which of course I can easily doubt, and often do. I think I need to meditate more.

I would like to hear how others communicate with their guides. A knowingness? a feeling? a clear voice? a picture in 3rd eye? dreams?

I'd like to share another story. When I was 6 years old, I could see and talk to spirits. I used to see an old native american man who had greyish white hair and dressed in a long robe. He used stand in my closet, just staring at me. We would talk to each other all night long. He said that he was there to protect me. the funny thing is that guides respect your wishes. They will not intrude or interrupt your soul's growth UNLESS you ask them.
One day, I revealed to my mom that I could see an old man standing in my closet. He looked scary (at 6 years old, everything looks scarier). She looked at me like I had three heads and got scared. She told my mother that I saw a man in my closet. Of course, my mom didn't want to reveal that she, too, could see spirits as well. So, she ordered my grandfather to "clean" my room. She also said that I shouldn't make up stories anymore. After that incident, I asked my guide and the spirits to leave every night until I couldn't hear or see anyone again. I regretted saying that to my guide.
Now, I am thankful for Sonia about reminding me of my guide once more. I can hear him, but I'm waiting to see him. I will continue to meditate and ask him to come out of the light to re-introduce himself. I'm sure he'll arrive soon. I'll share my experience with you.

I used to talk to my guides every night when I was a teen. I could feel them and hear them in my mind, but I never saw them. There were 2 or 3 different voices I could hear. At the time, I didn't know what or who those voices were, I just knew they weren't myself...They showed me my future or they would answer my questions...sometimes, they would answer my question by giving me a question. Then, I went into denial and the voices quieted for a few years...Nowadays, I am trying to re-establish that link I used to have, but the funny thing is that I can't go back to what I had. Instead, I am making a brand new connection...It's been a helluva ride so far...

Eventually, I will start my own intuitive practice (hopefully by next year) and will pro'lly create my own website. Knock on wood. That's my intention anyways.

I am wondering how you tell if it is your guide or something else.. ?? I am very clairaudient and hear spirits all the time.. I realize more and more that I've always had this ability.. The more I think about the more I know that I have always heard my spirit guides.. When I was younger I was probably better at just hearing my guides and not this other nonsense.. But when I started reading about guides and all, I got carried away and read too much.. How do you know if it is your guide and how do you stay connected to only them.. ??
